As the Indianapolis Film Commissioner, I’m proud to help represent our industry.
Film Indy is an initiative dedicated to growing the existing production community and marketing Central Indiana as a leader in Film and Media production.
What does that really mean?
We are here for the filmmakers. Filmmakers for us is anyone working in the media space. We know that with advancements in technology and distribution outlets the industry is constantly evolving to include new forms of media; digital advertising, web series, Netflix and Amazon content, virtual and augmented reality. We are here for you whether you are shooting a traditional independent film, producing a reality series, filming a corporate video or creating the next IndyCar video game at our favorite race track, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Beyond logistical assistance and permitting we want your projects to succeed and we work to provide access to resources and support. You will see on our social media channels that we regularly Tweet tips and tricks to being a better filmmaker, provide you with news on what is going on in the world of media throughout our city, and introduce you to local crew to collaborate with and hire for your next project.
Our blog will serve as an extension of those channels, diving deep into informational content and local resources.
As a team of one and a few amazing interns, we are small but mighty. As a matter of fact, I would say the same is so for Indianapolis as a city.
One of my favorite things about working and living here is ease and access. If you want to get something done, Indianapolis is the place to be. That’s why you will see that our permitting process is simple and quick and our city is full of diverse locations all within a fifteen-minute drive. No, I am not kidding.
As we continue to build Film Indy we will be rolling out location and crew databases, introducing a filmmaker grant program and sharing the tremendous projects that are being produced locally by our very talented creative class.
